Postdoc Workshop
Identifying and Tackling Postdoc Challenges
Postdocs are confronted with an array of challenges, either related to a career in science or doubts whether to stay in science. When facing these challenges, it helps to have a clear vision on one’s future career. Make explicit what your ambitions are, what environment makes you happy, what your expectations are and what your goals are for the future. This short workshop for postdocs aims to help the participants with identifying their main challenges as a postdoc via a “SWOT” analysis: identify your Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. We will look for commonalities in challenges, solutions to these challenges and you will learn how to translate solutions into a SMART plan of action (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound). This workshop is part of the Netherlands Annual Ecology Meeting (NAEM), that takes place on Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12 February 2020. The workshop is only open for registered participants of the NAEM Meeting.
1-2 weeks prior to the NAEM meeting, registered participants of the postdoc workshop will receive a SWOT form with explanation. It is expected that you start filling in the SWOT prior to the workshop. The final filling in will occur during Part I of the workshop.
Tuesday 11 February, 12:30- 13:15 (Part I)
Wednesday 12 February, 11:00-13:15 (Part II)
